Hi,
I have a Mimaki JV33 and am having serious problems finding downloadable media profiles for a range of media I am using!
Do you know where I can find profiles suitable with a Rasterlink pro III rip particularly for Solvent Roll up material which is lightblock silver-backed 175 micron thickness?
All I have on the rip profile list are the profiles the engineer left for me on installing the machinery...half the profiles are simply nameless codes and as such I have no idea what medias they apply to!!
Any help would be gratefully accepted!

Dear Ben,
A colour profile can be obtained in various ways :
- first of all, you can ask the manufacturer and/or supplier of the material in question for a colour profile. Have a look on their websites. Probably, you can download it there. If they don't have it, you can ask them whether they can make it for you.
- secondly, you can ask the supplier of the software/printer in question whether they can make the colour profile for you.
Whether you will have to pay for the above-mentioned service or not, that is another thing.
- a last possibility is to make the colour profile all by yourself. What you need to do so, is a software package or module for creating colour profiles and a spectrophotometer. Most RIP softwares include this module, but it often needs to be activated first. We suggest you get in contact with your RIP software supplier for that. There are also separate programms available, which can make the colour profiles.
The main advantage of this last possibility is that you can make the profiles for any medium you wish to use.
As for the so-called codes that show up in the RIP profile list : these are probably the references of the various media. It is mostly done in that way, as the description of the media would be too long.

Many thanks Walter,
I have found the profiles I needed from the manufacturer of the media i was using.
I am going to contact my RIP software manufacturer and ask them for the nesessary bits to create my own profiles though so thank you again for letting me in to that secret too!!
Cheers
