Grafityp: manufacturer of sustainable films

At Grafityp, we are working on sustainability with our own PVC-free films (GEF: Grafityp Ecological Films). We focus on both the ecological benefits of the films and the advantages in their production. For example, the production waste of the polyolefin films is 100% recyclable and no harmful substances are released during incineration during the production process. GEFs are just as user-friendly and qualitative as the films in our PVC range. And they are much more environmentally friendly!

📣 Important update: we expanded our PVC-free range! We introduced three new GEFs at the FESPA Global Print Expo in Amsterdam. They include two existing films with an improved formula and one brand new PVC-free film.

New: the first PVC-free long-term 2d-solution with permanent adhesive

GEF112PE is the first PVC-free long-term 2D solution with a permanent adhesive. A durable alternative for commercial vehicle decoration and decals, e.g. on trucks, buses, trains, subways, etc. The self-adhesive film is specially designed for flat applications and long-term use. It has a lifetime of up to 5 years with accompanying PVC-free laminate with high UV protection. Moreover, the film is extremely suitable for outdoor use thanks to its permanent adhesive.

New: GEFs with optimised formula

We believe it is important to keep updating our existing products to meet all market requirements. Two of our GEFS received such an upgrade. The optimised formula provides many benefits:*

• improved flatness, also on latex printer;
• optimal processing.

These include GEF112RPE and GEF113RPE.

Sustainability figures: LCA study

We back up the benefits of our PVC-free films with figures from the recent LCA study (2023). LCA stands for Life Cycle Assessment. It is a systematic analysis of the potential environmental impacts of products or services during their life cycle.

The study was conducted by the independent organisation Enperas. This is a spin-off of the Belgian research centres VITO and EnergyVille. Both leading players in environmental technology and research.

The results are encouraging!
