The inspiration behind the latest Omega-Skinz films

2024.05.24 - Hey car wrapper, have you already discovered the latest Omega-Skinz films? A fun fact: the exclusive colours of these new films are inspired by the latest trends in car paints, as often seen on Lamborghini and other exotic cars. Besides the exclusivity and ease of use of Omega-Skinz, you won't want anything else! Find out all about the latest films. Omega-Skinz co-founder Marco Boyer explains.

Latest Omega-Skinz films

At the FESPA Global Print Expo in March, wrap brand Omega-Skinz launched no less than three scoops. Two new colours (Racing Raptor and Grigio Olive) and a new carbon film ‘Forged Carbon’ in matt and glossy finishes. As producers of Omega-Skinz films, we give you the inspiration behind the colours as well as the main product advantages.

1. Forged Carbon

Forged Carbon is the latest addition to Omega-Skinz’s Carbon Series. What makes this film so unique? It looks like there are real pieces of carbon in the resin! The cast PVC film is available in matte (OS-1966S) and glossy (OS-1966) finishes.

The benefits:

  • Smooth surface with a 50-micron crystal clear top layer, giving the illusion of pieces of (forged) carbon cast in resin
  • Affordable alternative to real carbon fibre in the bodywork

The inspiration: Lamborghini

“Forged Carbon is the product everyone is asking for. Conventional carbon fibre is actually a woven carbon fibre glass mat and gives the special weave pattern that everyone knows. A few years back, Lamborghini introduced a new type of carbon fibre that consisted of pieces of glass fibre mixed together in resin; called “Forged Carbon”. And we wanted to have exactly that in our range too, but in film form!”, says Marco Boyer, co-founder of Omega-Skinz.

2. Racing Raptor

Racing Raptor (OS-646) is one of two new colours in the range. A stunning metallic wrap film. The unique thing about this film is the golden metallic ‘flakes’. these metallic particles are slightly larger than standard metallic pigments. Curves, shapes and kinks in a vehicle stand out because light is refracted in the special top layer.

The benefit:

  • The golden glow in the green base coat

The inspiration: subtle luxury

The golden flakes in the film create a stunning effect. The effect makes the car oozes luxury. Moreover, the shapes and curves of the vehicle are enhanced even further by the light reflected in the special top layer.

3. Grigio Olive

Grigio Olive (OS-749) is the second new colour in the Omega-Skinz range. It is one of a kind: the deep grey colour with a green tint adds cachet and class to any vehicle. In short, an exclusive colour for exclusive vehicles.

The benefit:

  • Unique colour that oozes class and robustness

The inspiration: Ferrari

“Grigio is originally a colour from Ferrari. They wanted a special colour for the most exclusive cars. We turned that colour into a film called Grigio Olive,” said Marco Boyer.

Why choose Omega-Skinz?

Omega-Skinz films offer many advantages during the mounting process. We list the most important advantages for you:

  1. The films are easily deformable with heat. If you heat the film to 40-50 degrees Celsius, it is as soft as butter.
  2. The film is less prone to over-stretching.
  3. Extra colour depth and appearance thanks to the multi-cast system (= multiple casting principle) in which the top layer is transparent, as if it were a clear coat.
  4. Omega-Skinz films have a longer life span.
